It’s been far too long since I picked up my camera and took any photos. I started a new job about 18 months ago and it’s pretty much consumed my life ever since. So, to restore some balance, I booked myself on to an Open-City London Architecture Tour, which took place today.
It was an excellent tour with a superb guide – Grant Smith – and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the few hours we spent in London’s Square Mile. Grant had an incredible knowledge of the architectural history of the area and I learned so much in a short time.
I was feeling pretty rusty in terms of using my camera and I also have no real experience of photographing architecture but, as the morning went on, I felt more and more inspired. So, I have a few shots that I’m quite happy with and I will post them over the coming days.
This is a photo of the iconic Lloyds Building reflected by the glass facade of the building opposite.
I’m going to book myself onto a few other courses so that I make time for photography. Today made me realise how much I’ve missed it.
