Ha ha! I have been on this ride a few times but looking at the body language of the people in the picture, I do wonder why I get so drawn to white-knuckle rides. It is probably because I grew up in Blackpool, which is a very large coastal resort in the north-west of England. It had a very large amusement park – the Pleasure Beach – with a lot of different rollercoasters. So, I started riding on them from a young age and loved the excitement. However, as I’ve got older, I think I’ve become slightly more reticent about fairground rides. These days, my first reaction is to look at the nuts and bolts and the overall state of the ride and wonder if it’s secure! It’s interesting how our perception of and attitude towards risk can change as we get older….

Yup, as we get closer to the Big Exit, it gets more important to avoid it.
