Yesterday, I posted a picture from a photoshoot I worked on with a model called Tereza. Melanie from Grab the Lapels left a thought-provoking comment about the tendency towards uncomfortable poses in fashion photography, particularly for women.

Getting flashy

After my ‘natural light’ training session with Andrew at 36exp, the next session involved off-camera flash. It took place in a graffiti-covered underpass near Waterloo station in south London.

The last few days have been quite amazing for me. I’ve been overwhelmed by the attention my Chernobyl photo essay received, after Krista, an editor at WordPress, selected it for the Discover section.

South Bank Shapes

Last week, I met up with a friend on London’s South Bank. She has had a digital SLR camera for some years but has never really gone beyond the automatic settings on it. We were both on a break from work and decided to have a day out together, taking photos. I offered to show her how to use her more advanced camera settings.
Chernobyl: 30 Years On

Today marks the 30th anniversary of the world’s worst nuclear accident, at Chernobyl in Ukraine.
I visited the exclusion zone earlier this year and have put together a personal photo essay of my trip there.
