Frozen Leaves

While London isn’t nearly as cold as Kiev, there has been quite a cold snap since we got back from our trip. I love the frost on the leaves in the garden. It creates such beautiful patterns and textures.
Cobwebs
The clocks went back one hour this morning, as British Summer Time came to an end. I woke up and went to make myself a coffee. I looked through the kitchen window to see the garden shrouded in mist. There were so many cobwebs glistening in the gentle morning light. Autumn has definitely arrived!

The rain continued overnight, so I decided to start my day with some more macro photography.
After the Storm

We’ve had a really tremendous thunder storm today (by London standards, at least). The air became increasingly muggy from about 2pm and then, an hour or so later, the lightning started. The storm was directly overhead and the flashes of light and claps of thunder were quite intense.

Baby Bird Bath Time
We’re very fortunate to have a flat in London that comes with a garden. We feel even luckier to have a garden that has a large park behind it, so we are surrounded by nature.
My garden has become my sanctuary. I love to sit and let the stress of London float away as I look at the plants, the open sky and the beautiful, mature trees in the park behind us. It is so peaceful, I can often forget that I live in one of the busiest cities in the world.
